The American Recovery & Reinvestment Act
(ARRA)State Military Department (SMD) - ARRA Stimulus Funds
 
was signed into law as of February 17, 2009.

 
This act has appropriated Army National Guard additional funds for “Operations and Maintenance” in the amount of $6,313,000
which is to remain available for obligations until September 30, 2010, to improve, repair and modernize Department of Defense facilities,
 restore and modernize real property to include barracks, and invest in the energy efficiency of Department of Defense facilities.

The National Guard Bureau through the Department of Defense is the controlling agency for the ARRA funds issued to the National Guard.

The Utah Army National Guard has been allocated $6.3 million dollars for projects to improve energy efficiency and upgrades utilities.
