Service Member and Family Support Services

"A combined effort of several offices working as a team to support service members and their familes."

Youth Programs The UTNG Child and Youth Program operates with a focus on life skills, personal well being and leadership opportunities. The program is available during all phases of deployment as well as the steady state. We offer monthly activities that teach life skills and leadership, youth councils, symposiums, youth camps and events throughout the state. We are very involved in the YR program assisting and preparing youth for deployment and reintegration. The youth program is the conduit for all of the national programs such as Operation Military Kids, Our Military Kids, NACCRA and programs like Tutor.com.
Family Readiness Support Assistants (FRSA) support the command by providing training to the FRG volunteers and ensuring the command is informed of current and updated regulations, policies, and directives that affect Family Readiness. They empower commanders in their duty to deliver the Total Army Family Programs so that Soldiers and Families are entitled, informed, educated, assisted and made ready for the unique demands of military life before, during and after deployment.
Community Covenants The Community Covenants (CC) Program is designed to bring local city, town and military leaders together to better serve the Service Members who live in their respective communities. As a grass roots program, Community Covenant Team (CCT) Members meet with community leaders to bring an awareness of the hardships that Service Members from all branches may be suffering due to the increased operational tempo since 9/11. The CC mission is to help every community in Utah sign a tailored Community Covenant, formally pledging support for Service Members and their families who live in their communities. The CCT continues to work with each Covenant Community to address the issues of service members and inform their leaders what other communities are doing to better serve military families.
Employer Support to Guard and Reserves (ESGR) develops and promotes employer support for Guard and Reserve service members by advocating relevant initiatives, recognizing outstanding employer support, increasing awareness of applicable laws, and resolving conflicts between employers and service members.
Transition Assistance Advisor (TAA) establishes a uniform process to educate, assist in obtaining services, and provide ongoing readjustment support and ensures all deployed veterans and their families have the knowledge and ability to access the benefits they have earned.
Military Family Life Consultants Military Family Life Consultants provide support for relationships, crisis intervention, stress management, grief, occupational hazards, and other challenges military families face. Their goal is to help empower individuals to work through their issues, increase individual and family harmony and promote confidence in handling the stress of military life.

FAC are open to all branches of the military, active, guard and reserves. Family Assistance Centers provide "one-stop shopping" and resources to help family members cope with any issue they encounter as a military dependent.
