Dear Guests and Friends of the Utah Training
Center at Camp Williams:
On behalf of the garrison commander, training site
manager, and staff, we welcome you to the Utah Training Center at Camp Williams.
Thank you for making this last season extremely fun and
successful! Last
year the Utah Training Center was literally bursting at the seams,
making it especially challenging to fit everyone in.
We understand that youth conferences are traditionally a
2-3 day events.
With all of the military units training for
deployments this year plus a generous mix of budget cuts; sleeping quarters,
dining facilities, or classrooms requested may not be available for the entire
desired duration.
We definitely want to work with you to make your
conferences as successful and fun as possible.
The most successful solution for conferences this year is
to come out for an entire day.
Spend the morning or afternoon building character
while participating in much needed service projects.
Reward the group with three hours of fun, team
building and leadership development activities on the Leadership Reaction Course
(LRC).
Then marvel at your own accomplishments as you push
yourself beyond the comfort levels concealing how brave you really can be on the
Rappel Tower.
Be amazed as the most timid member of your group leans
over the edge and begins to beam as he or she discovers the hidden strength
within.
As their leader, you can hold your head up high because
you are the one that can give your team this fleeting opportunity to be away
from the TV, video games, cell phones, and even social networking sites just
long enough for members of your group to learn that they really do have inside
of them, what it takes to be successful!
After a long and rewarding day of working and playing in
the sun; wind down with an evening poolside barbecue.
Wrap up the day as the sun sets by sharing your
experiences with each other on the lawn, watch a movie or hold a concert at the
amphitheater, or maybe even sponsor an outdoor social and dance.
While we strongly encourage creative solutions, all non-military organizations will not be authorized to set up tents.
As we process each request, we will call the Point
of Contact to discuss the request.
New requests are now being accepted for 2011 and will be placed in a first-come first served
holding queue.
Because military planning is done in January, all other requests are not able to
be processed until February.
We understand that waiting until February makes planning difficult and we
appreciate your patience. Because we also understand how precious vacation
days are for working families, waiting until after the military is finished
scheduling ensures that those vacation days are not wasted by being "bumped" by
a military unit needing the same dates.
In order to expedite your request, please include
the total potential number of males and females in your group (even if they do
not plan on participating) and as many alternate dates that are realistic for
your group.
